The Emergency Services Network Administrator will
be responsible for the development, maintenance and security of the
Emergency Services Information System Network. This network consists
of the internet working of 18 Emergency Services locations
throughout Johnson County, 2 Local Area Networks, and collaborating
with 7 hospital Emergency Departments for wireless hot spots. This
activity is increasing each year commensurate with the County's
growth. The incumbent will plan, coordinate, install, maintain, and
repair computer hardware, software, data communications & networking
equipment. A proficient understanding of networking components and
related equipment to facilitate self-sufficiency is mandatory. The
incumbent will monitor & maintain network security and meet high
availability network status (less than 24 hours downtime annually)
for approx. 31,000 electronic patient records generated annually
from emergency medical events authored by paramedics. The individual must be capable of establishing polite & professional relationships and provide customer service to 150 internal users and dozens of contacts outside the department.
