Position Summary:

Qualifications:

Requires an Associate’s degree in Office Administration or a related field. The successful candidate must possess one year of clerical support experience, including experience with data entry, creating correspondence, filing, telephones and etc.; one year of bookkeeping experience is preferred. Position Summary:

The incumbent is responsible for the overall management of the IT function of the library and is a member of the County Librarian’s administrative team. Responsibilities include:
· Planning, development, implementation and administration of library technology to provide patrons/staff with the library catalog and electronic resources.
· Collaborates with Johnson County ITS, Oracle, and Office of Financial Management to maintain library connectivity and coordination with county business functions.
· Manage the Library Information Technology staff to implement technology which supports library operations including staffing, training, and orientation and to develop a strong customer service ethic.
· Develops a Technology Plan and aligns it with the Library Strategic Plan (Experience JCL), monitors the integration and implementation of all technology related work plans and establishes technology metrics in support of the strategic goals.
· Coordinate and guide the development of library systems which provide access to the internet, electronic reference resources and computer resources including the library database of bibliographic materials.
· Enhancement and maintenance of the library's personal computers and its local and wide-area networks, including the oversight of all equipment purchases and contractual agreements for leased data lines, equipment, and staffing services.
· Oversees the selection, enhancement, and evaluation of the application software used by library staff and patrons.
· Manages and oversees the joint agreements with the Olathe Public Library and other metro libraries for all technology related initiatives.
· Manages the Library's E-rate processes for telecommunications services, plans for and manages the IT budget and develops RFP/RFI/RFQ and vendor evaluation measures.
Serves on local, state, and national committees which focus on the delivery, assessment, and improvement of library services to the public and represent JCL at local, state, and national forums as appropriate.

Qualifications:

 

Master’s degree in Information Technology Management or related field. Three (3) years experience in management in a medium to large environment, information services experience; including software development, project planning/management, Web site design/management, database management. Three-Five years (3-5yrs) experience in security management in medium to large multi-platform environment. Five (5) years experience in supervision, network and infrastructure management in medium to large multi-platform environment.
The incumbent must have:
· Analytical skills, including research skills, ability to interpret data, ability to conceptualize, ability to analyze information and the ability to write formal recommendation based on findings. Computer software – spreadsheet/word processing skills, attention to detail.
· Budget-related skills, including advanced accounting, math and statistics.
