Johnson County Government promotes involvement in the community. County-organized campaigns and activities benefit the following organizations:

Feed the NeedFeed the Need - Since 1987, employees of Johnson County Government have participated in the annual Feed the Need campaign. All donations of food and money benefit ten area food pantries serving eligible Johnson County residents. Throughout the year, employees from different County departments and agencies sponsor fund raising events ranging from food drives and chili cook-offs to golf tournaments. Each year, an Event Day is held in the courtyard between the County’s Courthouse and Administration Building. Many different departments and agencies set up booths providing food, games and other activities like a dunk tank to raise money for the Feed the Need campaign.

ArtsKCArts KC - Based on the United Way model and Arts Funds in other U.S. cities, the ArtsKC Fund campaign raises money to sustain a vibrant arts community and a thriving Kansas City. Employee contributions support grants to established non-profit arts organizations, programs and projects as well as to individual arts professionals, the Fund provides stable financial support for the arts, broadens access to high-quality art experiences and promotes excellence in the arts.

United WayUnited Way - Combining the efforts of five area United Way organizations, the annual United Way campaign held each fall continues to be the premier fundraising effort in the Kansas City metropolitan area. Donor gifts provide financial support to more than 50 Johnson County programs and initiatives within 27 local human service agencies, with 150 agencies funded on a metro-wide basis. If you choose to donate to the United Way, you may do so through a one-time contribution or through payroll deduction.
