The EAP helps you find answers to problems you may face in your personal life and at work. The EAP also offers information through training, newsletters and web site to help you as you confront day to day challenges. Services are available to family members who reside with
the employee regardless of whether the family member is enrolled in the
employee's health insurance plan.
Counselors are available to assist with issues regarding:
- Family relationships
- Marital/divorce issues
- Drug and alcohol problems
- Professional growth
- Workplace conflicts
- Physical or emotional abuse
- Depression and loneliness
- Loss of a friend, family, or coworker
- Financial and legal referrals
Employees enrolled in any of the County's three Blue Cross/Blue Shield health insurance plans must contact New Directions to obtain mental illness/substance abuse services. New Directions will either schedule an appointment with one of their counselors or they will refer you to a counselor covered by your plan.
For confidential assistance, please contact New Directions directly at 913-982-8398 or 800-669-6777 anytime 24-hours/day. If you prefer, you may visit the New Directions web site at www.ndbh.com.
